Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We had P.E. We had stations. At one station we got to dribble a basketball. (Henry and James)

We had Parker’s Me Bag. (Aster)

We ate lunch. (Evalynn)

We did Parker’s name page. (Azayla)

We played outside. (Abby)

We did math. We played Quick Eyes. It is a game where Mrs. Hotchkiss shows up a picture of dots and then she hides it really fast! (Hayden) We are working on mental math strategies! Quick images are a fun, engaging way for students to compose and decompose visual numbers. Students apply their understanding of subitizing—the ability to recognize a number of items without counting—as they determine the quantity of the groups.

We did my name cheer. (Parker)

We did my Me Bag. (Maya)

We did morning meeting. (Rylan)

We are making a hat of Pete the Cat. (Will C.)

We read Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons. (Grayson and Aster)

We ate snack. (Aiden)

We did math workstations in the morning. (Caroline)

My sub did some closing meeting notes for Tuesday and Wednesday! Here they are…

Closing Meeting 9-11-18

We played “Roll and color” in math (Aster and Abby)

We read a “Pete the Cat” book and learned color words. (James)

We went outside 4 times today! (Hayden)

We had a snack. (Rylan)

Closing Meeting: 9-12-18

We had math workstations. We sorted ways to make “5” with sticks and math cubes. (Abby, Adalynn, Alice)

We went to the library. (Will M.)

We went to lunch. The hot lunch was pizza crunchers. (Azayla)

We did a self-portrait with a color word. (Parker)

We did a name poster for Maya. (Kennedy)

We practiced reading from our book box to a partner. (Will C., Maya)

It sounds like everything went smoothly while I was gone!

Have a great night!!
