Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did Daily 5. (Jayden)

We did Weekend News. We got to write about anything from our 4 days off school. (Ginger)

We had counselor. She taught us how to solve problems. We can talk away, talk to someone, and we should always try to use our words. We need to use kind words. (Andrew, Kymiah, and Sophia)

We did math time. We played a game where we compared cubes trains. It was Grab, Count, and Compare. (Kate) We were comparing quantities to see which had more!

We played Quick Eyes. We had to look at the Smartboard at the dots and tell how many we saw and how we show it. (Sylus) This was a mental math game! We are working on subitizing. Subitizing is the ability to look at a number pattern and instantly recognize that number without counting. Quick Images can help students to develop understanding of quantity. Being able to conceptualize a number in a variety of ways will help students to use numbers flexibly, which is an important facet of number sense.

We did music. We did songs. (Logan and Evan)

We did skywriting. We did the letters d and s. (Layla)

For snack time we read a book called Knuffle Bunny. The author was Mo Willems. We drew the people and the background was a real picture. He won an award. (Sophia)

Evan said our class rules today. (Malai)

We did our big cards and little cards in Fundations. (Ginger)

Tomorrow is an early release day! The kids will be eating lunch at 10 am and school will be dismissed at 12:50 pm!

Have a great night!
