Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We had art. We were architects. We could make houses, amusement parks, or playgrounds. He read us a book. It was about a type of bug called a termite. He was an architect.  (Elizabeth)

We had writing. We wrote letters to our principals. Today is Principal’s Day! (Nick)

We had math. For math today we played Race to 100. How you play it is you have 2 different color bears. Someone rolls the dice. Whoever gets to 100 on the 100’s chart first is the winner. (Sophia)

We had Daily 5. We got to do 2 choices. (Brendan)

We had morning meeting. We did the calendar. We did the pledge of allegiance. We did white boards. (Kayleigh)

We did Fundations. We did short vowels and long vowels. We did a short vowel and long vowel game. We did the vowel chart. We did long e. (Yahna)

We did the Zero the Hero Stomp because it was the 160th day of school. There is 12 days left in school. (Andy)

We finished the 1st Mercy Watson book called Mercy Watson to the Rescue. Mr. and Mrs. Watson thought she was going to alert the fire department but she really just wanted hot buttered toast. It was a chapter book. It was silly. It was super funny because of the pig named Mercy. (Abigail)

Our class got 3 Cougar Compliments today. (Elizabeth and Addison)

Here is information from the K team about our program on Friday! Please read carefully!!

Dear Parents:
We are working hard this week to get ready for our kindergarten performance. Here is a little information so you know what to expect on Friday.

  1. The performance will be starting at 2:20. We will be performing in the cafeteria. Seating may be limited. The cafeteria will be open for seating at 2:10…. Please do not plan on coming earlier. The custodial staff will be working as quickly as possible  transitioning from lunch setup to performance seating. It is important that we give them the space to get that accomplished as quickly as possible.
  2. Children’s performance shirts/ costumes will be worn over your child’s clothing.
  3. If you sent in money for a t-shirt, those HAVE BEEN purchased and you will be able to take those home after the performance.
  4. If your child owns a pair of sunglasses, please send those to school anytime between now and Friday. YOU DO NOT NEED to go out a buy a pair of sunglasses for your child.
  5. After the performance the children will be led back to their class. We ask that parents remain seated until all students have left the cafeteria. You may go to your child’s classroom to take pictures and retrieve your child.
  6. All additional costume items (beyond the t-shirt) need to be left at school with your child’s teacher. You are welcome to take your child’ t-shirt home with you. We will leave kids in costume until pictures are taken.
  7. After the performance you are welcome to take your child home since it will be close to dismissal. You will NOT need to sign your child out. For safety reasons PLEASE let your child’s teacher know that you are taking your child BEFORE you leave.

The performance is looking fabulous and we can’t wait to perform for you. Thanks so much!

Sincerely, The Kindergarten Team
