Here is what we did today!

We went to P.E. We played a money game. (Ismael)

We did Daily 5. We got to make our own choices. (Madelynn)

We went to the Makerspace room. We drew creations. We were being architects. (Isaac)

We read The Apple Pie Tree. We are doing a book about how the tree changes. We only did the winter page today. (Maclyn)

We did morning buzz. We talked about what we did over the weekend. (Dempsey)

We did closing meeting. (Wilson)

We did our poem. It was called My Apple Tree. (AJ)

We did the letter m. (Carmel Grace)

We did writing. We wrote what we did over the weekend. (Brooklynn and Joshua)

We did math. We did 10’s frames. (Emma)

We did the weather. It was foggy this morning. (Wilson)

We did the calendar. (Maclyn)

We did days in school. Today is 36 days. (Ismael)

Just a few items left! On Friday, October 13th, we will be having an apple tasting day to celebrate all we will learn about apples! We will be trying all things apple and then graphing our favorites.  Please sign up for an item if you would like to help out and send it in by Thursday, October 12th. Thank you! Here is what we did today!

It was Isaac’s birthday. (Brooklynn)

We went to library. We logged into the computer. (AJ)

We did a tornado drill. (Isaac)

My dad came today! He is a community helper. (Landon) We met Sergeant Koch and he taught us about the highway patrol!

We did math. We found circles. (Russell)

We did Daily 5. (Madelynn)

We did closing meeting. (Wilson)

We did morning buzz. (Carmel Grace)

We did our poem and we put it in our poetry folder. (Dempsey)

We wrote a story about our lives in our new writing folders. (Emma)

We did the letter n today. We wrote in on white boards. (Brooklynn)

We did Starfall letter n. (Wilson)

We did the calendar. (Joshua)

We did our lunch count. (Maclyn)

We did days in school. We have been in school 35 days. Five more until 40! (Ismael)

In your child’s folder you will find lots of information on Fun Fest! I also put a Social Growth and Work Habits Update. Please look this over and discuss it with your child this weekend. Please initial and return it on Monday.

I also put a mini paper book that we did not get to this week. You can keep this at home.

Here is what we did today!

We went to art and we painted our pinch pots. We don’t get to take them home yet. (AJ)

We did morning buzz. (Isaac)

We did math. We had bunny snacks and we did counting backwards. We took one away each time and ate them and we had a smaller number. (Madelynn)

Nurse Jackie came to teach us about germs. We watched Sid the Science kid. (Maclyn)

We did Daily 5. We learned a new choice where we get to do letters. (Dempsey)

We did Fundations. We did the letter n. (Ismael)

We did writing. We wrote about our favorite community helper. (Wilson)

We did inside recess. (Joshua)

We read Counting Kisses because we were practicing counting backwards. We sang 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed and 5 Green and Speckled Frogs. (Brooklynn and Emma)

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Heavenly Hats Foundation National Hat Parade day!  Your students can donate $1 to wear a hat to help provide new hats for cancer patients.

We watched a video about police. They handcuff people who do not follow the law. (Carmel Grace)

Friday is Heavenly Hats day! Students can bring $1 to donate to cancer research and wear a hat to school!

If you are keeping up with the math homework we are working on 2-7! Remember you can also log into the CPS Portal and access all things Everyday Math through Schoology and the McGraw Hill App. It has what lesson we are on and great activities and games.

Please make sure you send in your student’s field trip form by this Friday!

We did Daily 5. Some kids did Read to Someone, some kids did Read to Self, and some kids did Work on Writing. (Ismael)

We went to Starfall.com. We did the letter b today. (Carmel Grace)

We did our poem. It was about community helpers. (Madelynn)

We did our video. It was about community helpers like police officers and firefighters and also teachers. (Brooklynn and Dempsey)

Brooklynn is the Cougar of the Week! She got a pencil. (Audylynn)

We wrote what we did over the weekend. It is called Weekend News. (Maclyn)

Tomorrow is the last day to donate Lego items for our Fun Fest raffle basket. Thank you to those who have donated!

Please make sure your child has a snack in their backpack every day if you can! Thank you!

Hi Parents!

I wanted to send a separate email today to let you know about some great online resources that your student can utilize at home!

If you visit the cps website www.cpsk12.org and go to the bottom right hand side of the page you will see the CPS Portal Login. Your student will log in using their user name and password (I can send you this if needed) and it will take you to some great resources purchased for CPS students!

We did ST Math today in the computer lab! This has GREAT math games! When the students log in through the portal, they do not have to use their password.

Capstone is a resource for online books!

If you click on Schoology and then click on the McGraw Hill Education App on the left hand side of the screen and launch the app, this will take you to the Everyday Math website! Click on the book and it will take you to the lesson we are doing on that day! There are great math games and activities on the website!

I highly recommend you try these things at home! Let me know if you need their log in information!
