Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did morning meeting.  (Ismael)

We went to library today and we checked out books. (Carmel Grace)

We did writing. (Maclyn) Our finished The Snowy Day books are coming home today! Have your student read it to you and retell our story!

Today we read The Story of Ruby Bridges.  She went to a school that only allowed white kids. (Audylynn)

We did closing meeting and snack.  (Xander)

We celebrated Maclyn’s half birthday. (Dempsey)

We did the weather and it was 32 degrees.  (Britt)

We had guest readers- Sophia and Alex. (Isaac)

We also played “Guess my word” with the whiteboards and worked on our word wall words!

In math, we practiced teen numbers by spinning a teen number spinner and building that number on a double tens frame! Each student would compare their number with a partner to see who had the higher number.

Social Growth and Work Habits updates are coming home today! Please look these over, discuss with your students, and initial before returning in the folder on Monday.

Reading bags are coming home today as well! Please have your student read these to you over the weekend and then return the bag with the books on Monday. To solve unknown words, we have been practicing using the pictures, getting our mouth ready to make the first sound, and looking for word parts that we know. When solving a word, we think about what would make sense and what would sound right. As we try a word, we check to make sure it looks right. We have also been working on pointing to the words to help us make sure we are getting the words right.

We need a few more items for the 100th day of school snack! Sign up if you can! Thank you! https://goo.gl/dr8Mn8

Have a great weekend! Go Vikings!
