Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did art. We did free draw paper. We finished our still life. (Madelynn)

We made a surprise at writing. (Carmel Grace)

We did math. We played 5 in a Row Subtraction. We got to use a special dice with 12 sides. You roll 2 dice and you take away the smaller number. You see how much you have left. You cover the number on the game board. To solve it, you can draw a picture on your whiteboard, use your fingers, count backwards, or use the number line. (Britt and Maclyn)

Our counselor came. She talked about being bossy. We read a book called Franklin is Bossy. We watched the Franklin is Bossy video. We colored a sheet with Franklin and his friends. (Brooklynn)

We did Fundations. We had these small plastic buckets. They each had things inside that started with the same blend. A blend is where there are 2 letters together and it almost sounds like one sound. The 3 we talked about were fl-, gl-, and pl. (Erin)

We did Daily 5. (Blake)

We did read aloud. We read Mercy Watson. We finished book one so we are on book 2. Mercy Watson wants to drive a car so she hopped on Mr. Watson and he couldn’t see. Baby Lincoln hopped into the car and they didn’t know until she popped up and scared them. When Mr. Watson wasn’t looking that was when Mercy jumped on him. (Isaac and Emma)

Me and Carmel Grace got to hold the Mercy Watson stuffed animals. (Joshua)

We did math workstations. (AJ)

We had morning meeting. I am still the line leader! (Xander)

Field Day is on Monday the 14th (rain date is Tuesday). The students will do lots of fun activities outside first thing in the morning for about an hour and a half. There are a couple games involving water. A swimsuit is not needed but an extra pair of clothes is a good idea (just in case). Please have students apply sunscreen before coming to school. Also please try not to be tardy since we will go outside right at 8:30 am. Thanks!! It will be lots of fun!!
