Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today:

Some of our eggs hatched today. 4 eggs hatched last night. We watched 1 hatch on the Smartboard! It can take around 5 hours to get out of the egg. Some dry chicks got to go in the tub. Miss Tappana and Miss Cramer and Mrs. Hotchkiss put the chicks into the tub. They also put food and water. (Mikayla)

We did writing. We did our chick journals. We wrote about our eggs hatching. In our chick journals we got scissors and cut a picture of an egg. It had a pip mark. We glued it on. We have to write the day so we know what day it is. When we are bigger kids we can know what happened. (James and JR)

We did math. We played a similar game to this before but this is with dot cards. Each person gets cards and you have a partner. Then you have to flip up 2 cards then you add the dots all together or in total and whoever has more gets to say “me!” Then they say the sentence like “5 is more than 2.” When the cards are all done then the other person wins. (Sophia)

We did P.E. We got to do push-ups and curl ups. (Jayden and Andrew)

We did snack. Our book was called The Chicken or The Egg? We saw chicks in the book and different kinds of chickens. It’s called a breed. (Kate)

We did Fundations. We did long –a and short –a. (Layla)

We did our chick journals. We did it 2 times. We did it for morning job and project time. We got to do 2 pages. We got a picture and cut it out. We put it in our chick journals. We watched a new Class Dojo video this morning. It is Series 2 Episode 1. Here are some questions you could discuss with your child tonight as well as the link to the video!

Series 2, Ep 1: Take-home questions
1. What is "the dip"?
2. Discuss an example of a time you've felt
the dip (student share, parent share.) How did
it feel?
3. How does what we've learned about
growth mindset help us get out of the dip?

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today:

We did our field trip. We went to a play. Our play was Skippy Jon Jones. He was in a circus. There were other people with him. They were real people they were just dressing up. We got to meet them at the end of the show outside. Some gave us high fives. It was funny! Skippy Jon Jones was acting like he was a girl and he had on his sister’s skirt. (Mikayla and Andrew and Kymiah and Malai)

We did math. For math we played a really tricky game. It’s called Part Whole Bingo. You have your game board and your dice. You have to roll your dice and figure out how many dots are on the dice in all. You have to fill the game board with cubes. You can split the cubes if you want to. Like if you have a 10 you could put one on 1 and some on 9 with cubes. (Sophia)
We did math and snack together. (James)

We did our poem. We wrote 2 more lines. We finished our poem with a question mark at the end! (Kate)

We did music. We got to finish the movie and book. We did a bear hunt. (Max)

We wrote in our chick journals. We had some pictures so we could remember what we had. (Layla)
