Hi Parents!
Here is what we did today!
We
did Fundations. We learned all of our digraphs. We practiced our big cards. We
did our magnet boards. Mrs. Hotchkiss told us a word and we had to build the
word with the digraph in it. (Yahna)
We
did writing and Daily 5 together. We got to do 2 choices. We are going to do 1
after closing meeting and snack. (Kiernan and Brendan)
We
had library. We checked out our books in the morning because there was an
activity in the library. Fifth graders facetimed a book author. All of our
library time was computers. (Elizabeth)
We
had counselor. We talked about what we wanted to be when we grow up. We got to
dress people on the Smartboard. (Abigail)
We
did math. We played 5 in a Row. We learned how to play it. Mrs. Hotchkiss
taught us how to play. It was really fun. We had to play 5 in a row 2 times and
then we could play blackout. (Eshan)
We
had read aloud. We read a book called The Moon. We learned a lot about
the moon. How the moon shines is actually the sun shining on the moon. We
learned that the moon looks huge because the moon is the closest planet next to
us. (Sophia)
Instead
of lunch before counselor we had it after. (Evie)
We
did our poem. (Sophia and Yahna)
Please make sure your child has a snack in their
backpack every day!
My son’s temperature spiked again this afternoon
so depending on how he does overnight/tomorrow morning there might be a sub
again tomorrow. Thanks for understanding!
Here is closing meeting from yesterday…
April 11, 2017
During Writing we drew a picture
of what we want to be when we grow up.
This will go in our class book we are writing. (Kayleigh)
We went on our field trip to
the Planetarium at Rock Bridge. We
learned about the stars, the moon and the sun.
(Sophia)
On the field trip the lady
had a red light that she used to point out things on the ceiling. If a spaceship gets too close to the sun it
will melt. (Elizabeth)
We painted a picture of the
sun and wrote a sentence about the sun.
(Abigail)
We did Read Aloud and read a book
called The Sun. (Bennett)
