This could be a small bag of legos or blocks, an action figure, a doll, stuffed animal, toy car, etc. No toy weapons please! Students are allowed to bring an electronic toy (such as a DS or small tablet) as long as the sound can be turned off or headphones can be plugged in. Please make sure it is fully charged or has new batteries. Please do not send valuable electronic toys because these toys will be unsupervised at times (recess, specials, etc.) Students will have the opportunity to play with these items at specific points in the school day. They will only be allowed to play with the toy in the classroom setting (not bus line, etc.) Please let me know if you have any questions!

On May 12th, we will have a special music program called How Does Your Garden Grow. We are asking that you please send in a t-shirt in a plastic bag with your child’s name on it by TOMORROW! Here is the information from our media specialist…
With testing starting on April 17, classes will not be coming to the Media Center for library checkout.  If a student needs a book, he/she must come in before school to get a book during our open check out time from 8:00-8:20 each morning.  It will be important for students to have access to books in your classroom, from home, or the public library to read, as the library will be closed due to testing.  Due to the last day of school on May 25, I wanted to let you know that students need to make sure all library materials are returned by Friday, May 12.  We will be sending notes home with all students after testing begins about overdue materials to try to get them back before the end of this year.

Make sure to send in your recycling pieces by this Friday!! Thanks!

Thanks to a couple fans…we were able to stay pretty cool today! Thank goodness!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We read The Sleepover for math. In the story there were bunk beds and one kid from the top would go to the bottom. After we read the book we acted it out. Green table was the bunk bed. We had 4 kids on the top and 4 on the bottom. We made different combinations but it was always 8. After we had 1 on the top and 7 on the bottom we had 0 on the top and 8 on the bottom. (Kiernan, Elizabeth, and Nick)

We had read aloud. We talked about our 5 senses. (Eshan)

We had Daily 5. (Maggie)

We had P.E. We played Money in the Bank. (Landon and Serenity)

We did writing. We did Monday News. We got to share about anything we wanted from Spring Break. (Yahna)

We learned about our 5 senses after lunch. We talked about if you can’t see you are called blind. When you are blind you can use braille to read. It has dots in lines that you can read. Sometimes they use a special stick or a special dog to help them walk. (Anders and Sophia)

We did a poem about our 5 senses. The one we talked about today is smelling. We talked about things that smell nice and things that smell stinky. (Sophia)

An April specials calendar and lunch menu are in the folder today. Have a great night!
