Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We went to library. We picked out books. (Owen and Lyrik)

We made firefighter hats. We cut them out and Mrs. Hotchkiss stapled it. We learned about firefighters. (Ginger, Dylan, and JR)

We read a book about firefighters at snack time. (Mikayla and Sophia)

For the first time, we got to do our writing folders. We wrote about things that have happened in our lives. (Sophia)

We did math workstations. (Connor)

We did Daily 5. (Logan)

We turned nothings into somethings. (Layla) This was a creativity lesson given my Ann Cardetti from the CPS gifted center! She will come 2 more times to do creativity lessons with the class. They talked about being fluent thinkers with a brainstorm of ideas!

We did our poem about community helpers. (Andrew)

We went outside and did lunch. (Jayden and Sophia)

We did new letters for Fundations. We did c and o. (Kate)

We have 69 Cougar Compliments! (Lyrik)

Cookie Dough! Pick up is happening now! Come grab your dough! Kids with less than 3 items sold were sent home with their sales.

Picture retakes are tomorrow! Please send back your picture packet if your child is getting retakes done. Please reply to this email if your child is having retakes done. Thanks!

This week we are collecting food for the Central Missouri Food Bank! Please bring nonperishable food items to the bins in the commons!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We measured things at math time. We looked for things longer than 10 cubes. (Ginger and Mikayla)

We did P.E. outside. We played Pac Man. We jogged around the basketball court. (Jayden, Sylus, and Sophia)

We did snack. We read a book about teachers. (Logan)

We saw a show with bikes! (Andrew) We had an awesome BMX show to celebrate a great fundraiser!

We read our poem. It was about people called community helpers like firefighters, doctors, and police officers. (Evan)

We did Daily 5. We did new choices. (Kate and JR)

In morning meeting we did morning buzz. For morning job we counted the sides of signs. (James)

Some of us had iPad time at Daily 5. (Layla)

We did the class rules and we got new jobs. (Malai)

We wrote about what did over the weekend. (Dylan)

Hi Parents!

We ran out of time for closing meeting today!

We had a great day! We did our morning meeting and for the 40^th day of school we did the Zero the Hero Stomp around the classroom!

We practiced out letters and sounds at Fundations time!

At writing, we wrote how we can be safe!

This afternoon, we celebrated earning 100 Cougar Compliments with our movie and popcorn party! What a fun event!

The class went to art and we ended the day by finishing the movie!

TONIGHT is Cougar Fun Fest! I recommend parking at Woodcrest Church and walking over! The event is very busy but very fun!

We did math workstations. We did 2 choices. (James)

We did music. We learned a new song. It was a mountain song. It had interrupting animals. (Sylus and Mikayla)

We made signs. We did a railroad crossing sign, a stop sign, a school crosswalk sign, and bike crossing sign. (Layla)

We did Daily 5. (Evan)

We did snack. Mrs. Hotchkiss read a book about being safe. (Logan)

We learned about inventory bags and what was in the bag. There are lots of different ways to count. There is no right or wrong way! (Andrew)

We read Rocket Writes a Story. We are going to write stories. (Kymiah)

We did the calendar and the days in school this morning. (JR)

We did our poem I Can Be Safe. We talked about how to be safe in the car. (Sophia)

Tomorrow is Heavenly Hats! Your child can bring $1 for charity and wear a hat to school! Tomorrow night is also Cougar Fun Fest from 5 to 8 pm.

Here is what we did today!

We did art time. We used clay to make pinch pots. (Kymiah)

We learned the game Grab and Count: Which is More? (James and Dylan)

We picked out new books from the classroom library. (Owen)

We are trying something new. We are getting points and not points. (Andrew) This is a new behavior system I am trying this week! Classroom DoJo is an app that comes highly recommended by teachers. There is a note coming home today explaining more! The kids earn positive points for behaviors like staying on task and following directions and points are taken away for disrespect, unsafe body, talking about of turn, etc. Parents are able to log in and see how their child did each day! Please follow the directions from the folder and visit www.classdojo.com/parents to set up an account. This way you see the points/reports and I send messages about specific behaviors. We will see if we like it!

We read Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf. (Ginger)

We did Fundations. We learned the letter i and the i sound. (JR)

There is a paper coming home today showing one of the great items you can bid on during the silent auction at the Cougar Fun Fest: A trip to Disney World!

Please make sure you return the yellow slip if you would like to come in and read to a small group of kids during our Fall Celebration with Books! I will have little stations set up so the kids can listen to parents read! It is a lot of fun!

If you have any G rated movies that would be good for our Movie and Popcorn party on Friday please let me know! I do not own any G rated movies!
