Field Trip Tomorrow!!
If your child is bringing a lunch from home, please make sure everything can be thrown away. We will not be taking lunch boxes to the farm. I will grab sack lunches from the cafeteria in the morning for those who ordered.

In preparation for our field trip, please make sure your child has warm layering clothing. The wind cuts across the pumpkin patch and there is no wind breaks. It tends to feel colder out there. Coats, jackets, hats, gloves/mittens, shoes that can get dirty are wise to have on hand. Now is also a GREAT time to start practicing self-help skills such as fixing sleeves that are turned inside out, zipping coats, buttoning coats independently, fixing upside coats that are turned upside down, etc. It really helps at this time of year when kids can master these skills independently. Thanks for your help!

Parent Volunteers
I just wanted to remind you of all the details for our field trip tomorrow! We have 9 volunteers joining us so those coming will be with your own child and one other student. You are more than welcome to pair up and we will be doing several activities as a whole group.

Peach Tree Farms
660-882-8009
24863 Highway 98
Boonville, Missouri 65233

The bus leaves at 9:00 and will arrive at Peach tree Farms around 9:30. Parents may meet us out at the farm or follow the bus.

We have a rotation schedule to follow. I will supply you with a copy of this schedule at the farm.
We will have a picnic lunch on the grass so please consider bringing a blanket to share if you are able.

Parents may take their child home if you wish. Please make sure you let me know and “sign out” your child before leaving.

Per District policy: Only parents who have completed a background check and has been cleared through the school may escort students to the bathroom. Please DO NOT assist students in the bathroom. You can wait outside the door for them. If the need arises for assistance, please let a teacher know.

Please do not let kids climb on trees or pick any produce. Please make sure kids are being kind to the animals; no kicking the animal houses or throwing items at animals.

Don’t forget to pack a lunch or snack for yourself and dress in layers….. it’s going to be chilly!

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Peach Tree Farms
660-882-8009

1:00 – Return to Mill Creek (busses leave Peach Tree @ 12:30)

**Please bring a blanket for our lunch picnic**

**I need one parent who is willing to transport sack lunches to the farm in the lunch tub and bring the lunch tub back to school when it is filled with pumpkins!! Please reply to this email if you are interested in helping! It will be heavy! We need a big trunk and someone strong!**

Parents may take their child home with them from Peach Tree Farms. You must check your child out with me and call the office. This will count against their attendance. Parents may not take any other child with them from Peach Tree Farms.

How parent helpers can help this be a successful and fun field trip:
Going on a field trip is an exciting experience for the kids but we still expect ALL students to behave like a learner. Please make sure your child and the children you are supervising are following all adult directions. If a child is having problems with this, feel free to bring them to me. 😊
-Children are asked to use walking feet (when in line).
-Children are expected to stay with their group.
-Children may not climb or pick anything off the fruit trees on site.
-Please make sure the kids are being kind to animals and farm materials.
-Hands, feet, and body ALWAYS need to be kept to self.
-Please do not purchase any additional items for children during the trip. It is unfair to all students when this is done.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Thank you!!

Fun Fest is Friday!

Pumpkin drop sales for the Fun Fest will start tomorrow and continue Wednesday and Thursday or until numbers are sold out. Below is a description of the pumpkin drop. Pumpkin numbers will be available for purchase in the commons in the morning. Committee members will also come to Kindergarten classrooms to help the little ones purchase their numbers. If interested in participating, please make your purchases early. We DO sell out of numbers every year. Good luck!

Pumpkin Drop:

Pumpkin drop is a very popular part of our Fun Fest. The Fun Fest committee will be selling pumpkin numbers in the Commons the week of Fun Fest. Each number purchased corresponds to a small foam pumpkin. You are purchasing pumpkin numbers for a chance to win a wide range of prizes. On the soccer field a target will be marked with numbered flags. Each flag will represent a prize. A hot air balloon (weather permitting) will be raised above the target and the numbered pumpkins will be dropped to the target. The pumpkin that lands closest to each numbered flag will win the prize that correlates with that flag. Watching the pumpkins drop is always exciting and the winners will be posted in the Commons during the Fun Fest.

Prices for Pumpkins are:
1 for $5
3 for $10
8 for $20
20 for $50

Here is additional information about Fun Fest if you have questions about the event!

Our Cougar Fun Fest is October 25th from 5:00-8:00pm. This is a family fun night as well as a fundraising opportunity for our PTA. PTA very generously supports our classrooms in a variety of ways including field trips, classroom materials, technology, assemblies, playground equipment, and much more. In order to meet the school’s needs, the PTA works very hard to raise funds that go directly back into your child’s classroom. We hope that the information below answers all your questions so you know what to expect!

Classroom Raffle Baskets:
Each classroom is responsible for creating a basket of themed items. These baskets will be displayed in the Commons during Fun Fest. You may purchase raffle tickets prior to Fun Fest or the day of the Fun Fest. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Once you have your tickets, you will place your name and phone number on the back of each ticket. Then you may choose which raffle basket you would like to win. You will place your raffle tickets in a bucket next to the basket you hope to win. If your ticket is pulled out you win the basket. These drawings are done at the end of Fun Fest. If you need to leave the Fun Fest early and your ticket gets pulled, your basket will be available in the office for pickup.

Games:
On the black top, there will be a large variety of fun carnival games for kids to play as well as a bounce house. You will have the opportunity to purchase game bands prior to the Fun Fest and also at the Fun Fest. The bands will permit your child to participate in all games. These are super fun and lots of prizes can be won. Bands cost $10 each. Each child playing must have their own game band.

Silent Auction:
The Silent Auction will be located in the Gymnasium. There are a wide variety of items at all price points. Please make sure to stop by and check out many of the fabulous items donated to our auction. We are always looking for great donations for our auction, so if you have an item or idea for the silent auction, please let your child’s teacher know.

Food Trucks:
Food Trucks will be at the Fun Fest for food purchase. A portion of all food sales will be donated back to Mill Creek.
