Parent
Teacher Conferences are next week! I am attaching a copy of
the schedule. Please let me know ASAP if you cannot make your day and time so
we can reschedule. I will not be sending home behavior updates because report cards will come home on Wednesday. There is no school on Friday
the 13th because of conferences.
I will be leaving early on Monday November 9th for a doctors appt. If there is a
change in transportation please let me know by noon on Monday! Thank you!
Next week we are going to begin a “nutrition unit” and I need your
help! I am asking each family to find
one picture for each of the following food groups:
• Bread/Grain
Group
• Fruit
Group
• Vegetable
Group
• Meat/Protein
Group
• Dairy
Group
You may look through magazines, grocery ads, etc.
with your child to find the pictures.
Please cut them out and send to school by Monday, Nov. 9th.
On Tuesday,
Nov. 10 we will feature the fruit group and will make “Friendship Fruit
Salad”. I would like for each child to
bring a piece of fruit to put in our salad.
If you would go ahead and have the fruit ready for the kids to cut up,
that would be great. Here are some
guidelines:
•It would be alright to leave bananas or oranges
in the peel but if your child prefers the peel off of apples or other fruits
then peel and slice it before sending.
•Obviously grapes are fine to leave whole.
•Put your name on any containers you want
returned.
I will let the kids use plastic knives to cut the
fruit into bite-size pieces before adding it to the salad. We will wash our hands before preparing and
eating our food, I promise!
Let me know if you have any questions!
Have a great weekend!
