Here is what we did today!!

We worked on our scramble sentence book. Lexi

We counted the days of school. Nick

We tried different types of cereals. – Yahna Ms. Zapata came and did a nutrition lesson with our class!

We did daily five and word work. –Sophia

We had Fundations. –Evie

We had snack and lunch. –Kiernan

We went over our rules. –Yahna

We are on our third page of our counting book. –Sophia

We had math today. –Brendan We talked about all the ways we see the number 3!

We read the calendar for today. –Brynn

We worked on math stations. –Anders

Fall Celebration With Books

TOMORROW Friday, October 28

Your child may wear a costume to school (book characters encouraged)

No masks, scary make-up, wigs, weapons or props--anything that could be a distraction.

The costume must be something that can be worn all day.  Tennis shoes are encouraged.

Since the focus is on reading your child can bring a favorite book or two from home as well as a small stuffed animal (it needs to be able to fit in the backpack).

Parents who signed up to come and read to small groups of kids will come from 12:30-1:00.

Here is what we did today!!

We had an assembly. It was soccer! (Evie) This was to celebrate our fundraiser!

We did the number 2 in our book of numbers. We put paint on the number 2. (Nick and Sophia)

We did our fall scrambled sentences book. We did the 3rd page. (Elizabeth)

We are having snack. (Pricila)

We did math workstations. (Yahna)

KOMU videoed us doing the pledge of allegiance. (Sophia) I am not sure when this will air! I will keep you updated!

Ms. Biener our counselor came. We talked about how people are different. (Brendan and Nick)

We had inside recess. (Mila)

We did our rules. (Yahna)

We had calendar. We did days in school and we have been in school 48 days. (Anders)

We made a nothing into a something. (Evie) This was our creativity lesson with the gifted center!

We earned 100 Cougar Compliments. We will vote on a celebration. (Addison) We will be doing a movie and popcorn party next week! If anyone has a good kid friendly movie I could borrow I would appreciate it! Preferably rated G. Thanks!!!

We made a scarecrow. We read the story The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. (Nick and Addison)

We had art. We finished our spider webs. We made creepy vegetables and fruits. (Elizabeth)

We did Monday News. (Mila)

We did Fundations. We learned about the letter c. (Kiernan)

We did math. We played 5 frame memory. We got cards and we flipped them over and we tried to find the match. (Sophia)

We played Quick Eyes. (Evie)

We did our rules. (Yahna)

We had snack. (Pricila)

We had calendar and days in school. We changed our jobs. (Anders)

We did morning buzz. We shared about what did over the weekend. (Eshan)

Tomorrow is the dental clinic at school and Friday is our celebration of books!!

My sitter is sick so my husband and I are splitting the day tomorrow. The class will have Mrs. Cockrell subbing in the afternoon.

We had community helpers come. We met a police officer. He was outside with a police car. (Kiernan and Eshan)

Ms. Zapata came and taught us about health food. We talked about germs and we pretended that there were germs. (Elizabeth)

We read a book about teachers. (Yahna)

We had Daily 5. (Nick)

We met firefighters. (Mila)

We had a baker come. (Bennett)

For writing time we wrote about our favorite community helper. (Sophia)

A nurse came. (Brynn)

I added lots of pictures and videos on Class Dojo! Make sure and check it out!

Tomorrow behavior updates will be coming home. Please look over these papers and initial at the bottom and send it back to school on Monday.

Ms. Stemmons read us Creepy Carrots. We made our own creepy carrot. Also we wrote how we would stop the creepy carrots. (Sophia and Anders)

We did a new part of Daily 5. It was Listening to Reading. (Elizabeth)

We played Quick Eyes. Mrs. Hotchkiss showed a picture and we had to look at it fast to tell what the number is. (Brynn) This is a mental math game! We are working on grouping numbers.

We did Fundations. We learned the letter u. (Mila)

We did writing. We made a new book. We did the first page. We had to figure out how to put the words in order. (Sophia) We unscrambled fall sentences!

Police have batons and guns for short range and long range. It was from a little video. It was about police. (Kiernan and Bennett)

We did math. We tried to put the firefighter dogs in the right place. The number of dots have to match the number on the firefighter. (Yahna and Anders)

We did calendar and days in school. (Nick)

We had hat day. (Maggie)

Parents are invited to come and read to small groups of kids from 12:30-1:00. I will send home a paper this week for you to sign up.

A craft activity and snack will follow from 1:00-1:30.
