Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We are going to have our party! For the party our families can come! (George and Logan)

We made reindeer ornaments. (Jackson)

We made reindeer hats. (Caleb)

We did our math workstations. (Liam)

We did the schedule. (Phoebe and Leo)

We had our school sing along. It was fun! (Sarah)

We did play time. (Liam)

We read a book about reindeer. We learned what they eat and what they do. They like the cold, they have lots of fur, and they are super cool! (Presley)

Parents are starting to come! (Cora)


Thank you so much for all the wonderful cards, letters, and gifts! I am so fortunate to work with such wonderful families like you all!

In your child’s backpack you will find a Gingerbread Kid book. That is a gift from me for your child to keep! In the folder you will find a behavior update (this does not need to be returned), a holiday card from me, and a fun list of things to do over break! This, of course, is optional.

Hi parents!

Here is what we did today!!

We had blacktop recess. (George)

We made something special for mom and dad. (Jackson)

We had music. We watched a video. We could lay down. (Logan and Cora)

We did math workstations. (Jesse)

Today is crazy sweatshirt day. (Avie)

For math we were on the calculators. We pressed numbers. We played with it. We could play with them at play time. (Presley)

We had our pizza party. We had juice boxes. It was at lunch time. (Sarah)

We did the weather. It was in the blue. (Logan)

We did the calendar. Today is December 19th. (Leo and Zellie)

We wrapped the presents that we made for our parents. (Phoebe)

We read a book about reindeer. It was a non-fiction book. It said real things about reindeer. (Cora)

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We talked about holiday traditions. (Olivia) If you haven’t sent in your family traditions you still can!

We got to drink hot chocolate with marshmallows. It was the perfect temperature! We got sugar cookies! And if we were still hungry, we could eat our snack. (Presley and Logan)

After lunch we had inside recess. (Jackson)

Zellie was the teacher assistant. (Caleb)

We did P.E. We played a game where you tried to knock down pins. You had to guard your pins. (Lux and George)

We did the calendar. We did the weather. It is freezing cold because it is in the purple. (Cora)

We saw Chicken Little. (Caleb) This was a Talking Horse children’s play!

We did the schedule. (Sarah)

We did writing. (Zellie)

Our pizza party is tomorrow! You do not need to send a lunch with your child.

Our winter party is this Friday from 2:20-2:50 pm! Parents are welcome to join!

Hi parents!

Here is what we did today! Check out the pictures and videos on Class Dojo!!

We found the Gingerbread Man! Mr. Miles found him! We ate him during snack time. We also watched The Gingerbread Cowboy book during snack. (Cora)

Our Gingerbread Man left a note on the Smartboard. We saw his crumbs and candies. (Presley)

We had play time. (Caleb)

Today we celebrated Evie’s birthday and she passed out candy canes. (Jackson)

Our Gingerbread Man rolled around in icing and sprinkles! (Sarah)

For read aloud Mrs. Hotchkiss read The Ninjabread Man. (George)

For project we wrote about how to catch the gingerbread man. (Logan)

We hung up our missing posters. (Caleb)

We did the calendar. (Presley)

For math we rolled 1 or 2 and whatever number we got we had to cover. (Sarah)

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today! We had a very eventful day! Make sure to check Class Dojo for lots of fun pictures and videos!

We lost the Gingerbread!! He ran away. (Jackson and Avie)

We read The Gingerbread Baby! (Olivia)

We tried to find the Gingerbread! We are hungry! Mrs. Gail tried to catch him, but she couldn’t. He made a mess on her! (Cora)

We took our Gingerbread to Mrs. Gail. She put it in her oven. (Caleb)

We found lots of clues from the Gingerbread kid. (Jesse)

We did the Snowball Shoppe. We had 5th grade helpers. (Logan)

We made gingerbread ornaments. We used a tool to scratch off the details we wanted. (Presley and Avie)

We watched the older kids sing and it was a choir concert. It was good! (Cora)

We also had counselor today with Mrs. Baker! She talked about what we can do when we are mad (take a drink, count to 5, ask for a hug, etc.)

We made missing posters for our Gingerbread Kid that we will hang up in the halls tomorrow! Hopefully we can find him! 😉

We did project. We put the parts of the Gingerbread Boy in the right order. We read the book called The Gingerbread Boy. We talked about some of the words in the book. (Presley and George)

We did a word family. We did words that rhyme with flag. (Phoebe)

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did the calendar. (Leo)

We had lunch. Me and Sarah had lunch with Mrs. Hotchkiss! (Presley)

We had writing. We did Monday News. (Jackson)

We did the weather. (Caleb)

We are doing closing meeting. (Cora)

We practiced writing A and B. We did a little bit of tapping. (Logan)

We read The Gingerbread Man. He got eaten. (Ellen and Sarah)

We had music. (Phoebe)

Mrs. Hotchkiss gave out some kindness awards. (Jesse)

We played a Gingerbread math game. If we landed on the fox we had to go back a square. We would roll the dice and move our cube. (Presley)

We did word games. (Logan)

We will shop at the Snowball Shoppe on Thursday. This is totally optional!

The kids earned 100 Cougar Tickets last week! They voted to celebrate with a pizza party! We will do this at lunch time on December 19th. If you would like to donate $1 or $2 to help pay for the pizza you can! Just send in cash with your child this week or early next week! Thank you!!

We have lots of fun things coming up in the next couple of weeks including gingerbread decorating, a pizza party, hot cocoa/cookies, and fun projects! We need lots of items for our classroom! If you would like to help or donate an item, please sign up using this link!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

I was out part of the day doing assessments so Mrs. French did closing meeting with the class!

We did closing meeting. (Ellen)
We did writing. (Jackson and Logan)
We did math. (Caleb)
We did monster squeeze for math today. (Sarah)
Sarah has 100 dojo points! (Presley)

A few other things we did included Fundations, library checkout, a book on needs and wants, reading The Pigeon Wants a Puppy, working on our surprise for parents, Daily 5, and P.E.

In the folder today you will find behavior reports. Please talk about these with your student, initial and comment (if you want), and return on Monday. We are in a new trimester so the reports start fresh!

You will also find information on the Snowball Shoppe! This is a fun way for kids to shop for family members. If you would like to participate, please send cash in the envelope and write on the outside the names each person they will be shopping for and how much you would like them to spend on each person. Please fill out the gift tags and return those as well! This saves us lots of time! Thank you!! Don’t feel obligated to participate! Our class will shop on Thursday morning.

We had writing. When we were done, we could write in our writing journals. Our surprise is part of writing. (Jackson, Logan, and Jesse)

We had Daily 5. (George)

Mrs. Hotchkiss read The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog. This book had the Duckling. (Sarah)

We had library. We got to work on the computers. We watched a cool video. (Presley)

We did the weather. (Caleb)

We played a game where we roll the dice and write the numbers. (Ellen)

We did project. We glued the needs and wants onto paper. Wants are nice to have but you can live without it. (Cora)
