Parent Teacher Conferences are next week! The schedule is attached!

I know we have a lot of birthdays and half birthdays coming up! Here is what it says in the Kindergarten Tidbits (also on my website) about birthdays…

Birthdays
On your child’s birthday, you may send store-bought or homemade, individually wrapped snacks (no drinks, please). You may drop off the snack in the office or send it with your child that morning. Kindergarten teachers love healthy snacks (granola bars, trail mix, fruit, etc.)! No cupcakes, cakes, or cookie cakes please. If your child has a summer birthday, it may be celebrated on your child’s half-birthday or in May. Please make arrangements with your child’s teacher. Be sure to check in advance for specific food allergies.
Birthday invitations may be passed out at school ONLY if ALL classmates are invited. If you plan to invite only some classmates, please get addresses from the Mill Creek Directory and then send them via U.S. Postal Service. Teachers cannot give out personal information.

We have 0 allergies and 21 kids! Thanks!

Have a great night!!

In the folder you will find a Social Growth and Work Habits update. Please review, talk with your student, and initial to return to school on Wednesday. I will be using these reports to fill out the grade card. These will come home the week of conferences (schedule attached).

On your child's Social Growth and Work Habits updates you may have noticed an average score on the right hand side of the page. These objectives match the social growth and work habits portion of the grade card.

The 2 score--Satisfactory: Student demonstrates skill/behavior "most of the time" with few reminders. The 1 score--Needs Improvement: Student needs several reminders to demonstrate skill/behavior or does NOT demonstrate skill or behavior.

Therefore, if your child received a 1.5 or lower average for an objective, then they will receive an “Area of Concern” or a minus on the grade card. If they are above this score they will receive the check or “Satisfactory” mark on the grade card. Please do not feel discouraged if you notice your child has received a minus on the grade card. There is still lots of time in Kindergarten to grow!

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much!

Have a great weekend!!
