Happy Friday Everyone!

Here is what we did today:

Mrs. Miller, Miss Miller’s mom came and read Dewey to us.  It was a story about a cat that lived in a library.  (Zain)

We did science.  For science we did an experiment with lotion and sparkles that showed us what it’s like to spread germs. (Adeline)
This experiment got glitter all over us! But it helped us learn how easily germs can be spread from person to person without us even knowing it if we don't wash our hands.  To show this I gave some students a hand shake with lotion that had glitter in my hand.  Then they had to find a friend to shake their hand so they got lotion on their hands too even though they didn't touch me.

Miss Miller read a book called Germs Are Not For Sharing. (Anna)

We did Daily 5.  We got new choices for word work. (Lexi B)

We had music.  We played a special game and we tried to collect sour notes. (Riley)

We got to highlight the word wall words in the poem called My Body. (Kate)

We got to play letter sound bingo.  (Crimson)

We had math workstations.  In math we got to play counters in a cup with 8 and 9 counters.  (Kate)

Don't forget your child will be bringing home reading group books for the first time today.  This reading bag of books will be sent home in the Daily Folder. It includes 2 guided reading group books and a strategy bookmark that will stay in the bag. Please keep these books in a safe place (their backpack perhaps) and have your student read these books to you over the weekend.  They are so excited to share all they have been learning with you!  Return the books on Monday in your child's folder. They will need these books for Daily 5 time. Thanks for your help with this!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also the sock hop is tonight from 6-8!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
