Here is what we
did today!
We had P.E. (Ishaan)
We had science. One cup got evaporated by
the sun and one didn’t! (Daniel) We put 2 cups of water by the windowsill.
Each cup had a thermometer and were filled to the same water level. However,
one cup was covered in plastic wrap. We noticed that by the end of the day the
water level of the cup without plastic wrap was below the line that was drawn
and was lower than the other cup! We talked about evaporation and how some of
the water from the uncovered cup became water vapor! We also noticed that the
cups were the same temperature as the air outside!
We went into the computer lab. (Lauren)
We had writing workshop. We did our
opinion. We wrote about sliding on the slide or swinging on the swing. (John) Students
decided if they liked sliding or swinging better and then wrote their reasons
why. We have been practicing using the
word “because” in our sentences.
Miss Pence and Miss Miller read us a book
called The Cloud Book. (Emily)
We made a cloud project with Miss Pence
and Miss Miller. (Ella McClary) Students were able to pick one of the
types of clouds that we learned about to make using cotton balls: Cirrus (high
in the sky, wispy like horse tails), cumulus (big puffy clouds) or stratus (low
clouds that are as flat as a pancake). We even had a few cumulonimbus storm
clouds!! Ask your student about the hand motions that go with each type of
cloud to help us remember!
We had Daily 5. (Alex)
We had math. We did the numbers in 10
frames. (Kaela)
We had Fundations. We pulled out our
white boards. (Izzy)
Have a great
night!
