Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We earned 100 Cougar Compliments! Brynn got the last Cougar Compliment. (Mila and Kiernan)

We did writing. We worked on our book. We used our plan sheet. We did our “last” page. (Lexi)

We did math. We made a page for a class book. We did ways to make 5 and we drew pictures to go with it. (Yahna)

We had Fundations. We did capital M and N on the Smartboard and lowercase m and n. We wrote M and N in our Fundations notebooks. (Sophia)

We did music. (Landon and Mila)

We did the Pledge of Allegiance paper book. (Anders)

We did Daily 5. We did 2 choices. One before music and one after. (Anders)

We did read aloud. We read the book The Pledge of Allegiance. (Sophia)

We did morning meeting with whiteboards. We wrote “We earned 100 Cougar Compliments”. We got a little doodle time to start. (Nick)

To celebrate earning 100 Cougar Compliments, the class voted to have a bubble gum party! We will do this on Friday! If you have 22 pieces of bubble gum that you would like to donate (before I go out and purchase some for the class) please let me know!!

Friday will be Lexi’s last day at Mill Creek. She is moving to Minnesota. If your child would like to make her a card or draw her a picture, please send these in your child’s folder by Friday morning and I will send them home with her. We will miss you, Lexi!

A March calendar is coming home in your child’s folder tonight!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did P.E. We did stations. There were 10 centers. Some had basketballs that you had to shoot. There were 2 types of basketball ones. One was tall and one was short. (Landon and Anders)

We learned about more of our American symbols. Some were the Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty, American Flag, Lincoln monument, Washington monument, the White House, Mount Rushmore, Gateway Arch, and the bald eagle. (Mila, Anders, and Bennett)

For math we did story problems. We could show our answer by drawing a picture or writing an addition sentence. (Elizabeth) We talked about all the different strategies we could use and then the kids showed their thinking on the whiteboards!

We did writing. We did Monday News. We shared what we did over the weekend. (Yahna)

We had Daily 5. (Andy)

Kindergarten is currently preparing for our End of the Year Program. We are looking for a parent who would like to help us out by coordinating costuming needs. This parent would communicate with the Kindergarten teachers, music teachers, and Kindergarten families to help with costuming. If you are interested in helping us coordinate, please let me know ASAP. We appreciate all of your help!

Here is what we did today!

We had library. We got to check out a new book and we got to play on the computers in the computer lab. We went to MyOn or ST Math. (Nick)

We had math. We played Counters in a Cup with 6. We recorded it. We put some in the cup and some out of the cup. Our partner had to figure out how many were in the cup. (Yahna)

We did writing. We did the “next” page of our book. (Mila)

We did Fundations and we wrote M and N. Some kids got to write the letters on the Smartboard. We wrote the letters on our Fundations whiteboards. (Sophia)

We watched an American Symbols video. The bald eagle kept popping up! It had the Statue of Liberty and the flag. (Kiernan and Abigail)

We did Daily 5. (Andy)

We did closing meeting and snack. (Addison)

We read a book with an elephant. It had a bald eagle on every page. It was about the history of our country.  (Serenity, Nick, Addison, and Landon)

We had morning meeting. We wrote on our whiteboards. (Yahna)

Your student is coming home with new books to read to you this weekend! Please make sure these books are returned on Monday with the bag! New books will be sent home on Friday if the bag is returned. If your student did not return their books then new books did not come home today.

Here is what we did today!

We said the Pledge of Allegiance and did morning meeting. (Nick)

In music class, we danced. (Kiernan)

We did math and played a game called Counters in a Cup. Last time we played with 5 cubes and now we play with 6. (Sophia)

In read-aloud we read a book about George Washington. (Yahna)

Ms. Cathy picked us up from Music and Mrs. Hotchkiss had a meeting. (Anders)

In writing we put our opening sentence in a book. (Sophia)

We did the Daily 5 and we did one choice. (Brynn)

Our counselor came to class and talked about being safe. (Sophia)

We did closing meeting and after we will have play time. (Maggie)

Here is what we did today!

We did math. We played 10 in a circle. We counted to 15 instead of 10. (Brynn)

We had P.E. We had a substitute. It was Mrs. Cockrell. We played bowling bingo. (Landon and Sophia)

We did Fundations. We wrote capital K and L and lowercase k and l. We wrote it in our notebooks. (Sophia and Anders)

We had writing. We wrote about what we did over the weekend. We did Weekend News. (Yahna and Madison)

We read the book Grace for President. (Mila)

We brought our paper books back today. (Bryson) Please make sure to send these back to school this week! I had several missing bags this morning! New books will not come home on Friday unless these bags of books are returned! Please make your child responsible for this…we talked a lot about being responsible with our books!

We did a paper about if we were President. We wrote about how we would help people. We wrote what our pet would be and who would live in the white house. (Abigail)

We did writing. We finished our friendship book. Some friends got to share their book. (Sophia)

We did Daily 5. We got to do 2 choices. (Landon)

We had morning meeting. We used the whiteboards. We wrote “We have four days of no school.” (Anders)

We did the days in school report. (Brynn)

We did math. We did Counters in a Cup. We had a recording sheet. We wrote the numbers of how many were in the cup and how many were out of the cup. Mrs. Hotchkiss would check and then we could use 6 cubes instead of 5. (Sophia)

You will also find a plastic bag of 3 reading books! Please have your child read these books to you this weekend! They will bring these books back to school on Monday to put in their book box. We talked about how we are practicing with paper books before we send home school books! Books need to be returned so that new books can come home the following Friday! Thanks!!

Hi Parents!

We did closing meeting early! Here is what we did today!

We made our Valentine’s bags. We decorated them with stickers. After that we put valentines in people’s bags. The bags we got to put them in the front of the classroom and we got to fill them. It was fun! We got to do a Valentine’s packet if we were done. (Yahna and Anders)

We are going to music and then we will have our party. (Landon)

We did the calendar. (Brynn)

We made a coupon book. We wrote things that our parents don’t like to do so we can do it for them. Some of them are reusable and some aren’t! (Elizabeth)

We did Valentine’s Day. (Nick)

We are going to have a Valentine’s Day party! (Evie)

We did math. We did a candy heart sorting. We got to sort the colors and then we got to write the number of how many we have and then we got to graph it. When we were done we got to eat them! (Sophia)

We read The Valentine’s Bears. Jan Brett drew the pictures. (Andy)
