Here is what we did today!

We went to music. (Sylus and Owen)

We did lunch and recess. (Logan and Andrew)

We made a book about counting. We counted apples. (Layla and Dylan)

We got to do work on writing, listening to reading, read to self, and read to someone. We all did different choices. (Sophia, Kymiah, and Evan)

We did snack and did a book on the SmartBoard. It was 10 Apples Up On Top. (Ginger)

We did the letter f. We echoed Echo the Owl and Baby Echo. (Lyrik)

We did our class rules and math workstations. (Malai and JR)

We did the schedule and morning meeting and morning buzz. (James)

We wrote about something we did over the weekend. (Kate)

We drew in our Fundations notebook. We did the f page. (Mikayla)

We did our Fall poem. (James)

We played a game on Starfall with the letter f. (Sophia)

I have to leave early tomorrow so please let me know before 11 am if there is a transportation change for your child!! There will be no daily email sent home tomorrow.

PJ party is this Friday!

PROJECT HELP!!! This Friday we are doing a craft with our 3^rd grade buddies and we need A LOT of orange pony beads. If you are willing to stop by Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, or Michaels to pick up these orange beads for our project please let me know ASAP. If multiple parents were able to pick up one or 2 packs of all orange pony beads we would be covered! We need almost 100 beads per child and we will have 40 kids doing the project! We got to do the fire drill. (Sophia)

We went to library. We checked out book and went to the computer lab. (Ginger)

We had an apple tasting day party. We tried different types of apples. We also tried apple juice and dried apples. (Sylus and Mikayla)

We decorated our summer page. We took piece of construction to make leaves and then we colored it. (Connor)

We did a brain break song. (Kate)

We learned about the inside of apples. We learned about the core, the peel, the seeds, and stem. (Andrew)

We went outside 2 times and did lunch. (Malai and Logan)

We did Sylus’ birthday. He shared his birthday snack. (Dylan)

We did sky writing. We wrote b. (Layla)

We did Echo the Owl. We practiced t and b. (Kymiah)

We put our My Apple Tree poem in our poetry folder. We found the word, “my”. (Evan)

Here is what we did today!

We went to art class. We went outside and we made something in the shade. (Ginger)

We colored the picture of the “top” in our Fundations notebook. (Andrew) We are working on the letter “t”. We have been practicing saying the letter’s name, the keyword, and then the letter’s sound.

We did 3D shapes. We played a game. We tried to get a match. We also tried to guess the right shape and Mrs. Hotchkiss gave us clues. (JR, Evan, Sophia, and Ginger)

We started our seasons of the apple tree book. We did our winter page today. (Sophia) We are working on adding labels and information to our pictures.

We did listening to reading. (James)

We went to the nurse’s office and she checked our eyes and ears. (Sylus)

We colored a fall page this morning. We had to find 16 apples. (Layla)

Here is what we did today!

We went to music. (Sylus)

We had some guest readers. They were Avery and Lauren. They read Green Eggs and Ham. (Owen and Evan)

We did lunch and went outside. (Logan, Dylan, and Lyrik)

We got to do math workstations. (Sophia)

We got to 100 Cougar Compliments! We are going to have a pajama party next week. (Andrew) We will do this Friday, Oct. 2^nd. More information to come!

We got to do Listening to Reading. We listened to books on CD players. (JR)

We sorted the 3D shapes. (Connor and Dylan)

We got to do snack and Mrs. Hotchkiss read us a book about apples. (Ginger)

We got to learn the letter “t” on a new whiteboard. (Sophia) We are starting our new word study program called Fundations! This is how we will learn our letters and sounds.

We did all the Me Bags. We turned all the name pages into a book. We are taking the book home today. (James) The students have been working hard on these for weeks! We have been working on drawing realistic pictures, using 5 or more colors, adding details, and adding labels. You mind notice names towards the end of the alphabet are more detailed. This is because the students are growing in their abilities!

Mrs. Hotchkiss is going to hang up our name posters. (Sophia)

We did Echo the Owl and baby Echo. (Malai) This is part of our Fundations program. We are repeating the letter and letter sound!

On Friday, September 25th,  we will be having an apple tasting day.  We will be trying all things apple and then graphing our favorites.  We will be trying different types of apples and apple foods! We got to find shapes around the room! We found cube, cylinder, cone, and sphere. (Sophia and Kate) A shape hunt is coming home tonight so your child can try it at home with you!

Today in your child’s folder you will see our first behavior update. These will come home every other week. There is a note explaining the process. Please sign and return this to me in your child’s folder. You are welcome to write any notes at the bottom as well.
