Here is what we did today!

We had library checkout. (Logan)

We did closing meeting. (George)

We got our pinch pots. (Jackson)

Recess was cold! Lunch recess was on the blacktop. (Avie and Cora)

We opened the pumpkin and looked at the inside! (Ellen)

We made our pumpkins for project. (Jesse and Presley)

We had art. (Presley)

We touched a pumpkin. (Sophie)

We did math. We read Ten Little Fish. The game was called Fish in the Pond and it was fun. We practiced lining up the counters. (George) We talked about efficient ways to count! We talked about how when something is scattered or in a circle it is hard to keep track. When you line something up, it is easier to count!

We did the letters e and r. (Logan)

We did math workstations. (Cora)

We had black and gold day! (Sarah)

We will be having a movie and popcorn party on Monday to celebrate earning 100 Cougar Compliments! If you would like to send a DVD in with your child, we will vote from movies brought in. If you would like to donate a bag of pre-popped popcorn you are welcome to do so! Just reply to this email and let me know!

Parent teacher conference notes are coming home today! Please fill this out and return it to school ASAP!

In the folder today you will find lots of fun worksheets! These are optional and do not need to be retuned to school. I know some kids like to do “homework”.

A handful of kids have not returned field trip forms! Please make sure these get returned ASAP!

Tomorrow is library checkout. (Logan)

We did morning buzz. (Lux)

We got new math workstation partners. (Caleb)

We did math. We talked about 5 frames and 10 frames. We did Quick Eyes. (George)

For writing we did things that are our favorite color. (Presley)

Mrs. Baker came to our class. She talked about bullying. (Jesse)

We did Daily 5. We practiced writing. (Jackson)

We did the schedule. (Phoebe)

We did math workstations. (Leo)

We did word games. I like counting the words in the sentences. (Sarah)

We had music. (Presley)

We did our magnet boards. (Zellie) We practiced initial sounds in words and identifying the letter.

We traced pumpkins. (Avie)

From 10-10:20 am everyday I will have a classroom aide in the room to work with kids who need one on one help with literacy skills. Right now, I have Mrs. French helping with name writing and letters/sounds practice. I will always try and let you know with a Dojo message if your child is one of the kids benefiting from this time!

We had a play time at the end of the day. It was short. (Presley)

We did the life cycle of a pumpkin and read a book about it. My favorite page had a big stack of pumpkins! (Sarah)

For writing we did our favorite food. (Presley)

We did read aloud at math. It was about shapes. (Liam)

We did the temperature. It was in the green. (Avie)

Please have kids return their library books tomorrow in preparation for Friday’s library checkout!

Fun Fest ticket preorders are coming home this week! Many are coming home today.

Friday is MU Spirit Day! Have your student wear their MU Tigers gear or black/gold! Hats or tiger ears are ok to wear too!

On Friday a form will come home about Parent Teacher Conferences! Make sure you fill this out and return it to me ASAP!

I am back! Here is what we did today!

We went outside. (Jackson)

We are doing closing meeting. (Caleb)

We did GoNoodle. We did the actions and danced. (Cora)

We went to library and worked on computers. We went to the portal. We did keyboard zoo and ST math. (George)

We had a special guest. She taught us about germs. We got to see germs on your hands. We washed our hands. (Evie)

We played How Many Now in math. (Lux)

We did e and r. (Sophie)

We learned Work on Writing. (Jesse) This is the 3^rd part of our literacy rotation called Daily 5!

We did the calendar. (Avie)

We did the flu shots. (Ellen)

We got over 100 Cougar Tickets! (Phoebe) To celebrate we are going to have a movie and popcorn party on Monday the 14^th! If you would like to send in a favorite movie on DVD (with your name on it) or a bag of pre-popped popcorn (like SkinnyPop, etc.) for the class party you are welcome to and we would appreciate it! We will vote on which movie to watch on Monday morning. Thank you!

We tried 3 different types of apples. We tried Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Gala. Yellow was the winner! (Jesse)

TODAY-Cookie Dough Pickup -3:30-5 pm

South parking lot and PTA members will deliver it to your vehicle.  Please note that we have no storage for cookies, so all items must be picked up!

TOMORROW, 10/2-Walk to School Day!  If you and your student would like to walk to Mill Creek as a group, please meet by 7:25 in the Central Bank (on Nifong) parking lot.  We will leave no later than 7:30.  Refreshments will be provided by PTA for walkers on the black top.
