Starting this Friday I will have a sub every Friday for the next several weeks to spend some time with my new baby. I will have the same sub every Friday. This option allows me to transition back to school without missing 12 weeks at the beginning of the school year. You might want to prepare your student ahead of time and discuss “going with the flow” with a new teacher.

Here is what we did today!

We went to lunch. (Kiernan)

We colored and cut a raccoon for our puppet. (Madison)

We played a game with Chester the Raccoon. (Yahna)

We read a book about Chester the Raccoon and his brother. (Abigail)

We played a game called Doggie Doggie Where’s Your Bone? (Sophia) This game was to practice names of friends!

Today your child is coming home with a Take Home Folder that they will return daily! It has some fun homework on the left hand side! Our Me Bag schedule starts next week so we can learn about each student in our class! Enjoy!

Each day we will do a closing meeting to go over our day. This is what the kids said about today!

We went to music class. We played games! (Nick)

We ate our lunch. We went to the playground! (Yahna)

We read The Kissing Hand. (Elizabeth) Have your child retell the story and give you a “kissing hand”! They might need one too!

We did a project. We had a raccoon page and we said how we felt today. (Addison)

We slid down the bars at recess time. (Mila)

We talked about how we are getting home. (Kiernan) We did a SmartBoard transportation sort. We compared the number in each group!

We colored. (Abigail)

We danced to a song. It was a brain break. (Lexi)

It was a great first day! Tomorrow I will send home their Take Home Folder with lots of goodies inside. Make sure and look this over! I will have some projects for the kids to do! See everyone tomorrow!

Welcome 16-17 Kindergarten Parents!

I will use this site to communicate with you on a daily basis! At the end of each day I will have a closing meeting with the Kindergartners. The kids will reflect upon the day by telling about what they learned and what we did at school! I will make a blog post and email the meeting notes to you!
