Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did a hayride. (Kate)

We picked out pumpkins. (Evan)

We fed animals. We fed sheep. We pet the animals. (Jayden, Mikayla, and Ginger)

We went on a field trip to Peach Tree Farms. (Logan and Sylus)

We went through a straw maze. (Andrew)

We saw a big catfish. We pet rabbits. (Layla)

We earned 100 Cougar Compliments again! (Sophia) Wow! That happened fast! To celebrate, the class voted to have a movie and popcorn party! If you have any G rated movies you would be willing to let us borrow please reply back to this email!

Some parents took pictures. (Connor and Owen)

We ate lunch on the field trip. (JR)

We looked at the ducks and pet the goats. (Lyrik)

We went to music. We did a new musical instrument. We did the bear hunt song. (Kymiah, Malai and Dylan)

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We did quiet time. (Logan)

We did math workstations. (Owen and Ginger)

We learned new games for word work. (Andrew)

We colored pictures from Pumpkin, Pumpkin story. We did a retelling. We can try it at home. (Layla) The retelling cards are coming home today!

We did writing time. We did our scrambled sentences. We did the pumpkin page in our book. (Dylan and Sophia)

We did Daily 5. (JR)

We went to library. We got to play games online. (Sylus)

We got to pick out new books. (Evan)

We got to the Fundations magnet boards. (Sophia)

We did the calendar. (Mikayla)

We went outside 2 times. (Jayden)

We did our poem. We highlighted the word “the” and we put it in our poetry folder. (James)

Kate led us in the class rules. (Malai)

We did a brain break. (Kate)

I sent home a reminder about the field trip today in your child’s folder. I added reminder about lunch choice tomorrow as well.

I am looking for a last minute donation of small, plastic, disposable water bottles for the field trip tomorrow! If you would be willing to purchase these please let me know! The kids get very thirsty by the end of the trip! We would need 20 bottles. If you are coming on the field trip you could bring these with you or, if you are not, you could send them in the morning. Thank you!

Tomorrow is our black and gold spirit day! Encourage your student to wear their Mizzou gear in honor of homecoming!

Here is what we did today!

We went to P.E. We played a bowling game. (Mikayla)

We had Ms. Mielke come. She read a feelings book. (Andrew)

We went outside 2 times. (Jayden)

We cut a pumpkin open today and we got to feel inside of it. It feels slimy and it is smelly! (Layla)

We did our owl page on our fall scrambled sentence book. (Sylus)

We did the Grab and Count game with cubes. (Owen)

We read It’s Pumpkin Time. (James)

We practiced writing m and n on our Fundations white boards. (Dylan)

We did our Daily 5 choices. We got to pick our own. (Ginger)

We did Fundations. We did Echo the Owl. (Kymiah)

We did a brain break. (Kate)

We got to read from our book boxes. We did the calendar. (Malai)

If you can, please send in your pumpkin face family homework by Friday. If you need the weekend to work on it, that is fine too! Thanks!

Here is what we did today!

We went to art. We made a picture of our face. We had a substitute because Mr. Gwinner was sick. (Sylus and Dylan)

We went outside. We had lunch. (Dylan)

We made a book about pumpkins. We colored the book Look at the Pumpkin Grow. (Layla and Mikayla)

We did Fundations time. We learned about the letter m. (Ginger)

We did counting. We played Grab and Count. We showed our thinking on a piece of paper. (Owen and JR)

We did our rules. (Kate)

We started our Fall Scrambled Sentences book. We did an apple page. (Andrew)

We read a book about pumpkins. (Jayden)

We did a fire drill and earthquake drill. (Sophia)

We did Daily 5. (JR)

Tomorrow is our walk to school event! Hope to see you there! We will meet at the Central Bank of Boone County and start walking to school at 7:30.

Parents who are coming on the field trip please bring a blanket for our picnic lunch on Friday if you can!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We went to music. We sang 5 little pumpkins. We got to do a bear hunt song. We finished a movie about Monster Musical Mansion. (Sylus and Dylan)

We did our counting book. (Layla)

We got to do a new letter. It is n. (Andrew)

We had new jobs. (Ginger)

We read Mouse Count. (Owen)

We did Daily 5. We got to make our own choices. (Sophia)

We did a poem about pumpkins. (Kate)

Dylan led us in our class rules and we went outside 2 times. (Malai)

We did Echo the Owl in the morning. We read a book about pumpkins. (Kymiah)

We wrote about what we did over the weekend. (Connor)

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ! There is a piece of paper that was accidently put in your child’s folder on Friday that says Monday News at the top. It is a white page with a drawing and writing on it. I am keeping these papers for a portfolio of writing. Please send this back in your child’s folder tomorrow if you can. Thank you if you have already sent this back!!

Our Walk to School day is THIS Wednesday, October 7th.  We will meet at the Central Bank of Boone County and start walking to school at 7:30.

Peach Tree Farms Field Trip Reminder
Our field trip to Peach Tree Farms is THIS Friday, Oct. 9th!
•We are planning on leaving Mill Creek at 9:00 am and returning to school around 1:30 pm.
•Please send your child in jeans, tennis shoes, and a jacket. Keep in mind that we will be walking in the fields and your child needs to wear shoes that can get muddy!
•If you are sending your child’s lunch please send it in a plastic or paper bag LABELED WITH THEIR NAME. Everything needs to be disposable.  No lunch boxes/bags.
•For those that asked for a sack lunch, I will have those ready that morning!   
•**Due to supervision and safety of the Kindergarteners, siblings are NOT allowed on the trip. **
•Parents must pay a $4 entry fee into the pumpkin patch. Please turn this in ASAP.

Due to limited space on the buses parents will need to drive their own vehicles (or carpool).  Parents will be responsible for supervising small groups of children and helping to keep “law and order”.  All children will ride the bus to be considered “present” at school.

This is what we did today!

We wore our PJ’s to school and we brought our stuffed animals. (Andrew)

We made a pumpkin with our 3rd grade buddies. (Mikayla)

We went to library and we went to the computer lab. (Ginger)

We did the Zero the Hero Stomp and we counted to 100. (Sylus)

We did math workstations. (Kate)

We did our class rules. (Malai and JR)

We started our counting book. (Jayden)

We read to our stuffed animals. (Layla)

For Fundations we got to do the letters b and t on Starfall. (Sophia)

We did Read to Someone with stuffed animals. (Dylan)

Some friends got to borrow stuffed animals. (James and JR)

Lot of important things coming home in the folder today including behavior updates and school pictures!

Hi Parents!

Here is what we did today!

We went to P.E. We got to play a game where we rolled the ball and tried to knock the pins down. (Sylus)

We played outside. We did lunch. (Logan, Dylan, and Connor)

It is a new month! October!!!!! (Andrew and Owen)

We are getting ready for our PJ party tomorrow! This month has Halloween. (Layla) We hit our goal of 100 Cougar Compliments!! To celebrate, we will be having a special Pajama Day tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd. Your child may wear his/her pajamas all day!  Please make sure that your child is wearing school-appropriate pajamas and tennis shoes, since we will have recess outside. Please do not send house slippers with your child to school, as they are not safe for playing on the playground. Your child is welcome to bring a small stuffed animal as well (the toy must fit inside his or her backpack and have the ability to turn any noisemakers off). If you have any questions, please contact me!

We did a new book for book box. It was called Fall is Here. (Ginger)

We read a counting book. (Kate)

We got to do the Fundations magnet boards. We got to explore with the magnet letters and Mrs. Hotchkiss gave us clues and we had to guess the letter. (Sophia)

We did Daily 5. (Mikayla and Jayden)

We read a book during snack called Colors of Fall. (Malai)

We did a leaf page and we wrote about what we liked about fall. (Evan)

Thank you for all of the pony beads! We will be all set for our craft tomorrow!

Thank you for the Star Wars donations! If you would like to donate to our raffle basket the deadline has been extended to Monday morning! If you can, please try to have your items to school sometime tomorrow!
